Oregon Pursuing Michigan Safety Keon Sabb in the Transfer Portal

Dan Lanning has reloaded Oregon's roster in a big way heading into next season. First he inked the best recruiting class in program history, and then he added 11 more players from the transfer portal which only makes the Ducks that much deeper on paper.

Oregon has now recently started recruiting is Michigan safety Keon Sabb , who entered the transfer portal on Friday, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports.

The Ducks are one of many heavy hitters that have made contact with the sophomore safety and former top-100 recruit, and they're joined by the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida State among others. Sabb is originally from Glassboro, New Jersey and signed with the Wolverines in the class of 2022 after spending his senior season at national powerhouse IMG Academy. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-1, 208-pound defensive back logged 28 total tackles, 2 interceptions and 4 pass breakups en route to a national championship with the Wolverines in 2023. He was one of the better defensive backs in Ann Arbor, starring alongside Will Johnson.

Oregon's secondary as good not great in 2023, which is why the coaches have made a conscious effort to bolster the depth for Chris Hampton and company. Since the season ended the Ducks have added Jabbar Muhammad (Washington), Kameryn Alexander (UTSA), Kobe Savage (Kansas State) and Brandon Johnson (Duke) to their secondary from the transfer portal, while also signing names like All-Americans Dakoda Fields, Aaron Flowers and Ify Obidegwu.

Safety isn't a glaring position of need in Eugene, but the Ducks are clearly kicking the tires here and seeing if Sabb has any interest. The other position worth watching for Oregon in the transfer portal is interior defensive line, as they lost a bulk of their production from that spot with the departures of Brandon Dorlus , Casey Rogers and Popo Aumavae .
