The divisional round of the 2024 NFL playoffs is upon us, and the good news for us bettors is that there are countless ways to attack this weekend of football. Let's take a trip over to the playoff specials tab and target two plus-money props for the divisional round.
The prop bet is available at FanDuel at the best price. The favorite in this market is Saturday's game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Green Bay Packers, which makes sense because it features the highest total of the divisional round, but we see some value in Sunday night's showdown between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Over the last five meetings between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, the Bills and Chiefs have combined to average 55.8 points per game. Their two playoff matchups finished with 78 and 62 points, respectively.
The Bills are also dealing with a ton of defensive injuries, which only helps our cause here. We could do worse than betting on two supremely talented quarterbacks to engage in another shootout.
If you're looking for a wide receiver to go off in the divisional round, look no further than Mike Evans.
The Detroit Lions rank 30th in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game and 31st in yards allowed per attempt. This is by far the worst passing defense left in the playoffs, and they allowed Puka Nacua to torch them for 181 yards on nine catches in the wild-card round.
Evans, who operates as the main deep threat for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, should be the one to take advantage of this soft secondary. He managed just three catches and 48 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles last round, but he also dropped two perfectly thrown deep balls that would've given him a monster statistical performance. Expect a bounce-back game from Evans this Sunday.
